It's that time of year again and Georgia Tech Women's Basketball will await to see where they will play next and their opponent. Georgia Tech (20-11)(10-8) is expected to be traveling to Ames, Iowa to face Iowa State, according to Charlie Creme's Bracketology. Georgia Tech's key win this season was against #13 North Carolina, their first win over a top-ranked team since their win against Georgetown in Chapel Hill, NC in March 2012. Georgia Tech defeated Virginia on Thursday March 6, 2014 in Greensboro, NC, 77-76, but fell short to Duke on Friday March 7, 82-52. Georgia Tech is looking to get back to the NCAA tournament after not making the tournament last season.

Thanksgiving Tourney and ACC/Big Ten Challenge
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. As you all know, our Lady Jackets travelled to San Juan, Puerto Rico where they faced Rutgers and Green Bay. Things did not necessarily go our way, but I think they learned something from the two losses.
The first game on Friday November 25 was against Rutgers. Rutgers pretty much took control of the entire game and went on to win 59-40. Saturdays match-up against Green Bay was a thriller. The game was back and forth with GT up three with a few seconds left, Green Bay drove down and hit a huge three to tie the game and end regulations. Green Bay would go on to win in OT.
Losing two games back to back is not something Head Coach MaChelle Joseph wanted. She was determined to get this team back in shape as they faced a very talented and undefeated Nebraksa in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. A good crowd settled in the Arena at Gwinnett for the showdown and tip-off was underway. Georgia Tech took an early lead and kept building. Goodlet stepped up as did Marshall, Maye, and actually the entire team. You could tell this team had a lot of positive energy coming into this game. The Lady Jackets took a 14 point lead to the locker room at halftime. Second half, Nebraska came out shooting the three ball better but the Lady Jackets made some adjustments and took at 22 point lead at one point but Nebraska cut that down to 12, but the Lady Jackets would not let them come any closer. Georgia Tech wins 73-57 and gives Nebraska their first loss of the season.
Georgia Tech Lady Jackets take on Georgia Lady Dawgs this Sunday at 2:00 in Athens. See you there!

Tragedy for Oklahoma State
This morning, the women's basketball family was shocked to learn the Oklahoma State Women's Head Coach Kurt Budke and Assistant Coach Miranda Serna were tragically killed last night in a plane crash. The two were returning to Stillwater from a recruiting trip. Also killed in the crash were former Oklahoma State Senator Olin Branstetter, and his wife, Paula. Senator Branstetter was the pilot.
What does this teach us and where do we go from here? It should teach us that no matter who what or where, death will find us. Death doesn't matter how much or less money you have and we should be ready everyday as we are not promised another minute. We should alway surround ourselves with people we love and love us and we should cherish our time on earth. Never forget where you come from but look to where you are going. Be passionate and never leave mad. Always tell the people around you how much they mean and let your actions speak. Refrain from calling names and fill that with love and encouragement. Be the role model for everyone you come in contact with.
We send our thoughts and prayers to Oklahoma State Women's Basketball Family, the victims families and friends. We always hope and pray for safe travels for these teams as they travel cross-country but especially today when they travel with heavy hearts.
